About Me

Ciara Flood, RD, ANutr., MSc. Nutrition and Behaviour

Hello! My name is Ciara and I am a Registered Dietitian based in Dublin, with a special interest in Intuitive Eating. I qualified with a degree in Human Nutrition and Dietetics in 2015, and spent the next few years working in various hospitals across Dublin. Towards the end of that time I discovered Intuitive Eating, and decided I wanted to pursue further study in order to learn more about health behaviours.


I completed an MSc in Nutrition and Behaviour from Bournemouth University in 2020, to become a Registered Associate Nutritionist with the Association for Nutrition in the UK. My passion lies in wanting to help people improve their relationship with food, mind and body through Intuitive Eating, and I am currently undertaking further Intuitive Eating Pro Training in order to provide the best possible service to my clients.

What is Intuitive Eating?

Intuitive Eating is a program first developed in 1995 by two nutritional therapists, Evelyn Tribole and Elyse Resch, which came about when the two discovered that the research around dieting showed that weight loss was impossible to sustain long-term for 95% of people and, in fact, dieting came with its own set of biological and pyschological issues. The pair looked at the benefits of listening to your own body cues, making peace with food and giving up the dieting mentality once and for all.

Intuitive Eating will help you in accepting your body as it is here and now, removing the guilt so often associated with food and allowing you to live without the restraints of chronic dieting. It includes looking at joyful movement for health and enjoyment, and gentle nutrition to respect and nourish your body.
